My mates in London

With some of my mates in London January 2008

I am 48 years old, average height and build, and with not too much hair to sing about. Unfortunately I started losing the old ‘Barnet fair’ around the age of 24/25, which was quite disturbing at the time, but I soon got used to it and decided to shave it all off. Funny, but back then it seemed to attract more comment than it does today. I’m sure there are more baldies around than there were back then.

I like to think I’m a people person and good with relationships. I do have a lot of very good friends, most of whom have been friends for many, many years. I’m still close to my old mates from England, and am quite proud that I have kept that association going.

However, I’ve been married and divorced twice and I’m not too proud of that, even though relationship with both ex’s is good. I would like to think I did learn something from both marriages, and use those experiences in a positive way with Kelly who I’ve been with since October 2008.

I would describe myself as a straight shooter who dislikes jargon & fluff intensely, someone who is honest and tells it exactly how it is. I believe that I am true to my east end roots, am loyal to those who matter, and would like to think that people see me as ethical with great integrity.

What do I like doing? Relaxing on the weekend, going to movies, reading. Love sitting in a café on weekends reading the papers with my partner Kelly, or having dinner with friends. Oh yes and I am a bit partial to the occasional Jack Daniels.

I like to travel whenever I get the chance, usually it’s a few days in Sydney or the South Coast, but sometimes to places further afield. Europe and New York is on the agenda over the next 12 months. Kelly’s family is from Cairns, so we get up there at least once  a year. Spending time with family is very important to us.

I have a passionate love of  most sports, particularly Football (soccer) and Rugby Union. I play Masters football for Tuggeranong Old Boys and was an active member of the Canberra A-League bid committee for the past 12 months.
